Houston, TX (Law Firm Newswire) June 20, 2022 – Jose Ceja, the managing attorney of Ceja Law Firm PLLC, gave a well-informed CLE presentation at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting last week in Houston.
This was the first in-person meeting of members of the State Bar since 2019, after two years of virtual meetings. Many of the CLE sessions focused on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the legal profession, from hiring and retention to court accessibility and lawyer well-being.
Mr. Ceja’s presentation, “Roadmap to a Criminal Case,” drew on his 15 years of experience practicing criminal law, including a stint as a drug prosecutor, and his in-depth knowledge of the Texas Penal Code and rules of criminal procedure. Previously, Mr. Ceja has also lectured on incorporating technology into the practice of law.
In addition to the State Bar, Mr. Ceja is an active member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA), the Harris County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, and the National College For DUI Defense.
Ceja Law Firm regularly handles all types of state and federal criminal cases in Houston and throughout Texas, including DWI, drug crimes, assault, domestic violence, sex crimes, theft crimes, violent crimes, weapons charges, and white-collar crimes. Over the span of his career, Jose Ceja has regularly obtained dismissals, not guilty verdicts, and grand jury “no bills.”
Mr. Ceja would like to thank the State Bar of Texas for inviting him to speak at the Annual Meeting, as well as all the members in attendance, and congratulate 2022-2023 president, Laura Gibson.
